Samkok Fantasy Characters Guide 2026: Complete Hero List, Tier Rankings, Best Teams, Builds, and F2P
When I first started Samkok Fantasy, I made the same mistake I see a lot of new players make: I looked at rarity first and everything else second. If an SSR appeared on the summon screen, I assumed it had to be better than the R or SR hero I was already using. A few days later, my “stronger” team was actually clearing stages more slowly because half of my new SSR characters had low stars, weak Bonds, and no real synergy with each other.
That is probably the most important lesson to understand about Samkok Fantasy characters. This is not a game where rarity alone decides whether somebody deserves a place in your formation. The official global version is built around the idea that heroes can eventually progress toward UR, while star levels, Bonds, Awakening, faction synergy, Rage generation, positioning, and shard availability can matter just as much as the rarity printed on the character screen.
The current roster has also expanded far beyond the launch lineup. Alongside familiar Three Kingdoms names such as Cao Cao, Zhuge Liang, Lu Xun, Zhou Yu, Guan Yu, DiaoChan, and Lu Bu, later versions have added SP variants and newer heroes. By August 2026, the official community was still introducing new units, including SR Xun You, while teasing another unnamed Legendary Hero.
So instead of simply giving every SSR an automatic S rank, this guide looks at how characters actually function when you build a six-hero team: damage, Rage cycles, tanking, healing, crowd control, Bonds, star accessibility, PvE value, PvP usefulness, and long-term investment.
I. Introduction to Samkok Fantasy Characters
A. How Heroes Affect Team Strength and Progression
Your heroes are basically the engine of your entire Samkok Fantasy account. Gear, pets, Divine Weapons, Soldier systems, and other progression features certainly matter, but the six characters you deploy determine how those bonuses are converted into actual battle performance.
Each character brings a different Rage attack, passive mechanics, Bond effects, and role. Some heroes want to fire their Rage skill as often as possible. Others become stronger after teammates act. Certain tanks are valuable because they reduce incoming damage rather than dealing much themselves, while some supports are practically useless when separated from the faction or character pair they were designed to enable.
That means increasing total Combat Power does not always improve the team equally. I have seen lineups with lower displayed power clear a stage more easily simply because their Rage rotation and Bonds worked together.
B. Understanding Roles, Rarity, and Factions
The game generally organizes characters around combat jobs such as Striker, Tank, and Supporter, although individual kits can blur those categories. A character like Cao Cao can contribute damage and utility, while somebody like Sima Yi may feel like an attacker even though much of his value comes from strategic Rage and AoE mechanics.
Base rarity runs through R, SR, and SSR, with advanced progression allowing characters to move upward toward UR. Official promotion guidance describes a path from R to SR, SR to SSR, and SSR to UR through star progress, Friendship requirements, Hero Shards, interactions, and Awakening materials.
The main factions are Wei, Shu, Wu, and Qun. You do not always need to run a pure faction team, but faction relationships often make certain lineups easier to build.
C. Why Team Synergy Matters More Than Rarity Alone
A low-star SSR can be disappointing compared with a five-star R or SR character whose Bond and Rage effects are fully active.
For example, the beginner Wei Yan and Huang Zhong pairing works because each character directly accelerates the other. Huang Zhong receives Rage and bonus damage after Wei Yan uses his Rage attack, while Wei Yan receives Rage, damage reduction, and healing after Huang Zhong activates his. That interaction can make the pair much stronger than throwing two unrelated SSR characters into the same formation.
My rule is simple: first ask what a hero contributes to the formation, then ask what rarity they are.
II. Complete Samkok Fantasy Character List
Because the game advertises more than 100 heroes capable of reaching UR and continues to add new versions, the full roster is constantly expanding. The practical list below focuses on the major characters found across the global roster, faction lineups, early recruitment pools, SP releases, and commonly used team archetypes.
A. SSR Characters
Important SSR and high-value recruitable heroes include:
Wei: Cao Cao, Sima Yi, Cao Ren, Xiahou Dun, Xiahou Yuan, Zhang Liao, Zhang He, Xu Huang, Xu Chu, Dian Wei, Guo Jia, Wang Yi, Cao Pi, and Xun You-related roster variants.
Shu: Zhuge Liang, Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Zhao Yun, Liu Bei, Huang Zhong, Wei Yan, Ma Chao, Pang Tong, Huang YueYing, Guan YinPing, and XingChen-related variants.
Wu: Lu Xun, Zhou Yu, Sun Quan, Sun Ce, Sun Jian, Sun ShangXiang, Lu Meng, Gan Ning, Taishi Ci, Xiao Qiao, Da Qiao, LianShi, and Ling Tong.

Names can appear with slightly different spacing or localization depending on region. For example, Sun ShangXiang may appear as ShangXiang, while Lu LingQi is often shortened to LingQi.

Lower-rarity characters are much more important here than they are in many gacha RPGs.
Early and budget characters include XingChen, YinPing/Guan YinPing, WenJi/Cai WenJi variants, YueYing, Zhen Ji, Wei Yan, Huang Zhong, Xiahou Dun, Cao Ren, Xu Chu, Xiahou Yuan, Dian Wei, Wang Yi, Pang Tong, Sun Jian, Sun Quan, Da Qiao, LianShi, Yuan Shao, Meng Huo, ChunHua, and Zhu Rong, depending on the version and initial rarity of the specific unit.
The official beginner lineup specifically recommends accessible combinations built around LingQi, XingChen, YinPing, WenJi, YueYing, and Zhen Ji, which tells you immediately that the game expects players to use more than just SSR pulls during early progression.
A new SR Xun You was also officially introduced in August 2026.
C. UR and Advanced Characters
UR is not simply a separate summon rarity in the traditional sense. A major part of Samkok Fantasy progression is turning lower-rarity heroes into stronger forms.
R heroes can progress toward SR, SR toward SSR, and SSR toward UR. Higher promotion levels unlock stronger passive effects, Spirit skills, and additional stat growth.
On top of that progression system, there are SP heroes, which function as stronger or altered versions of familiar characters. Current and previously released SP names include SP Sun Ce, SP Lu Meng, SP Da Qiao, SP Gan Ning, SP Cao Cao, SP Guo Jia, SP Zhang Fei, SP Zhao Yun, SP Lu Bu, SP Zhang Liao, and SP Zhou Yu. Official 2026 posts have continued promoting SP releases and special-server rewards built around these advanced characters.
D. New and Upcoming Heroes
The roster is still actively growing. Hua Man and Cao Pi were among the newer SSR additions promoted by the official channel, while Ling Tong and Shui Jing also joined later updates.
As of August 10, 2026, the official page has announced SR Xun You and teased a new Legendary Hero without publicly naming that hero in the indexed announcement.
That is important for pull planning: do not build your next two months of spending around leaks when the developer is already teasing official additions.
III. Samkok Fantasy Character Tier List
I treat this as a practical 2026 ranking rather than a permanent law. SP availability, star level, server age, and UR progression can completely change individual performance.
A. S-Tier Meta Characters
My broad S-tier pool includes:
SP Lu Meng, SP Da Qiao, SP Sun Ce, SP Gan Ning, SP Cao Cao, SP Guo Jia, SP Zhang Fei, SP Zhao Yun, SP Lu Bu, SP Zhou Yu, Lu Xun, Zhou Yu, LingQi, Zhuge Liang, Cao Cao, Sima Yi, Lu Bu, and Zhang Fei.
Why so many SP units? Their kits generally represent a later stage of the game's power curve, so players on mature servers naturally see them more often in high-end Arena and advanced PvE.
Among the older accessible roster, Lu Xun and Zhou Yu still deserve special attention because Burn remains a complete team archetype rather than a one-character gimmick. LingQi remains one of my favorite progression carries because players can develop her reliably through early missions rather than depending entirely on lucky pulls.
Earlier tier evaluations consistently placed Lu Bu, Zhuge Liang, Cao Cao, Guan Yu, Sima Yi, Zhang Liao, Xiao Qiao, Zhang Fei, and Zhou Yu among the strongest original-generation choices.
B. A-Tier Strong and Flexible Heroes
A tier includes DiaoChan, Cai WenJi, Sun ShangXiang, Guan Yu, Zhao Yun, Hua Tuo, Xiao Qiao, Zhang Liao, Guo Jia, Sun Quan, Lu Meng, Cao Ren, Zhen Ji, Huang Zhong, Wei Yan, and selected newer SSR characters such as Cao Pi.
These characters are powerful but usually have a more obvious condition. DiaoChan becomes much better in female-oriented formations. Huang Zhong wants Wei Yan. Sun ShangXiang loves teams that pressure the back row. Lu Meng is strongest when Burn or Wu synergy makes his defensive contribution more meaningful.
C. B-Tier Situational Characters
B-tier heroes include Ma Chao, Liu Bei, Dong Zhuo, Meng Huo, Xu Chu, Xiahou Dun, Zhang Jiao, YueYing, Pang Tong, Yuan Shao, Sun Jian, Taishi Ci, and several early SR damage dealers.
These are not useless. In fact, several of them become excellent when highly starred. I place them lower because replacing them later is more common or because they depend on a narrower setup.
D. Early-Game and Investment-Dependent Heroes
R and SR characters such as XingChen, YinPing, WenJi, ChunHua, YueYing, and early faction fillers may look weak on a generic tier list. In actual new-server progression, however, they can outperform premium heroes simply because you can raise their stars much faster.
That is why I would never automatically feed or abandon an accessible character just because somebody ranked them B tier.
IV. How Samkok Fantasy Characters Are Ranked
A. Damage and Burst Potential
Raw damage is the easiest thing to notice, but I look at how the character delivers it.
Lu Bu becomes frightening when Rage stacks and repeated attacks start amplifying his output. Lu Xun is valuable because Burn continues working after the initial skill. LingQi provides concentrated single-target damage that can remove one dangerous target instead of spreading weak hits across the entire enemy squad.
For PvP, burst matters because killing a back-row support before it casts can decide the battle immediately.
B. Tanking and Survivability
A tank needs more than HP. I rate tanks on damage reduction, shields, taunts, self-healing, damage sharing, Rage interference, and their ability to keep fragile teammates alive.
Zhang Fei is a great example. His value comes from combining frontline pressure with protection and survival mechanics rather than simply having a large health bar. Earlier global tier analysis highlighted his taunt, shielding, and survival tools as reasons for his high ranking.
C. Healing, Buffs, and Crowd Control
Zhuge Liang, Cai WenJi, Hua Tuo, Xiao Qiao, DiaoChan, Zhen Ji, and Da Qiao-type characters can be more important than another DPS slot.
Rage manipulation is especially strong. If your support allows your main carry to activate a Rage attack one turn earlier, that “support” may indirectly produce more damage than another attacker.
Crowd-control effects such as stun, Bind, Mesmerized-style debuffs, and Rage reduction also become increasingly valuable in PvP.
D. PvE, PvP, and Long-Term Scaling
PvE rewards consistent damage and survivability. PvP rewards speed, control, Rage disruption, back-row pressure, and explosive first rotations.
Boss content values single-target scaling differently from campaign waves.
So whenever somebody says, “This hero is bad,” I always want to know: bad where?
V. Samkok Fantasy Character Roles Explained
A. Attack and DPS Heroes
Attackers are your main source of damage. Lu Bu, LingQi, Lu Xun, Zhao Yun, Zhang Liao, Sun ShangXiang, and various SP characters fit this broad category.
Some are direct carries, while others rely on status effects or follow-up attacks.
The biggest beginner mistake is running three or four DPS heroes and wondering why the team dies before the second Rage cycle.
B. Burst Characters
Burst heroes want to remove a priority enemy quickly.
LingQi is a straightforward example because her concentrated single-target output is useful in campaign progression. Zhao Yun can pressure specific lines and exploit repeated turns or critical hits. Sun ShangXiang and back-row-oriented teams specialize in reaching enemies that normal front-to-back lineups struggle to touch.
A burst hero becomes much stronger when combined with Rage support, defense reduction, or targeted control.
C. Defense and Tank Heroes
Zhang Fei, Sima Yi in defensive compositions, Cao Ren, Xu Chu, Xiahou Dun, Sun Quan, Lu Meng, and later SP tank variants can anchor the front row.
A tank should normally occupy a position where enemy attacks naturally hit them first. Putting the tank somewhere that does not actually protect your carry wastes half of the character's value.
D. Support and Healing Characters
Zhuge Liang, Cai WenJi, Hua Tuo, Zhen Ji, Xiao Qiao, Da Qiao, LianShi, and DiaoChan can provide healing, Rage, buffs, debuffs, or crowd control.
Do not judge supports by their personal damage chart. If your Zhuge Liang causes the entire team to Rage more often and survive one extra rotation, that is his damage contribution.
VI. Best Samkok Fantasy Characters for Beginners
A. Best Early-Game DPS
LingQi is my first recommendation.
The reason is not merely her damage. She is practical. Early missions can push her toward five stars quickly, and her single-target output remains relevant well beyond the tutorial. The official beginner guide explicitly identifies her as the core DPS of its Heroine Squad and notes the seven-day mission progression supporting her star level.
A strong hero you can actually develop is better than an amazing hero sitting at one star.
B. Best Beginner Tank
XingChen is surprisingly useful because she is accessible and receives early defensive synergy through the Heroine lineup.
If you pull a higher-rarity defensive hero such as Zhang Fei, Cao Ren, Sun Quan, or a strong SP tank, you can transition later. I would not delay campaign progress waiting for the perfect tank.
C. Best Support and Healer
WenJi/Cai WenJi-style healing is excellent in the opening phase because she is accessible and her team healing stabilizes weak formations.
Zhen Ji is another high-value early support because her female-team Bond becomes very powerful when most of your formation is made up of heroines.
Later, Zhuge Liang, Hua Tuo, DiaoChan, Xiao Qiao, or advanced SP supports can replace those starter choices.
D. Easy-to-Upgrade R and SR Heroes
XingChen, YinPing, WenJi, YueYing, Wei Yan, and Huang Zhong are characters I would actively consider instead of ignoring.
The lower rarity actually helps you early because shard progression is easier. A five-star SR with active Bonds can make a one-star SSR look extremely ordinary.
VII. Best Samkok Fantasy SSR Characters
A. Strongest SSR Damage Dealers
Among the classic SSR pool, my favorite damage investments are Lu Bu, Lu Xun, Zhou Yu, Cao Cao, Zhang Liao, Zhao Yun, Guan Yu, LingQi, and Sun ShangXiang.
Lu Bu is the obvious “big number” character, but Lu Xun has more team-building value because Burn creates an entire strategy around him.
LingQi deserves special recognition because accessibility changes how valuable a character actually is.
B. Best SSR Supports
Zhuge Liang sits near the top because healing, offensive buffs, Rage manipulation, and teamwide value are useful everywhere.
Xiao Qiao is excellent when enemy buffs and Rage cycles are causing problems.
DiaoChan becomes particularly strong against male-heavy formations and in Heroine compositions.
Hua Tuo is appealing when you need pure survival and recovery rather than offensive acceleration.
C. Best SSR Tanks
Zhang Fei is the classic high-end tank. Cao Ren, Sun Quan, Lu Meng, and certain Sima Yi-centered formations provide alternatives.
Your choice should depend on the rest of your roster. A Burn team often prefers a Wu tank because faction and team interactions matter more than choosing the highest individual tank on a generic list.
D. SSR Characters Worth Long-Term Investment
The safest classic SSR investments are Zhuge Liang, Lu Xun, Zhou Yu, Cao Cao, Sima Yi, Zhang Fei, Lu Bu, LingQi, DiaoChan, and Sun ShangXiang.
They either remain useful after promotion or fit a recognizable long-term archetype.
VIII. Samkok Fantasy Factions and Character Synergy
A. Best Wei Characters
Wei has some of the most tactically flexible heroes in the roster.
Cao Cao provides offensive and support value. Sima Yi thrives in longer battles. Zhang Liao brings aggressive AoE pressure. Cao Ren and Xiahou Dun can handle frontline duties, while Guo Jia provides strategic utility.
A classic Wei philosophy is to make the opponent weaker while your own Rage economy keeps improving.
B. Best Shu Characters
Shu includes Zhuge Liang, Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Zhao Yun, Huang Zhong, Wei Yan, Liu Bei, Ma Chao, YueYing, and Guan YinPing.
Shu is easy to recommend because it has strong options at every role. Zhuge Liang is one of the best supports, Zhang Fei can protect the formation, and the faction offers several direct attackers.
C. Best Wu Characters
Wu is where Burn players usually start looking.
Lu Xun + Zhou Yu is the key pair. Add Sun Ce, Lu Meng, Sun Jian, Jia Xu or another support, and the composition becomes focused on spreading damage across the enemy rather than relying on one burst hit.
Wu also provides Sun ShangXiang for back-row pressure and Sun Quan for support or frontline utility.
D. Best Qun Characters
Qun has some of the most unusual heroes, including Lu Bu, LingQi, DiaoChan, Yuan Shao, Dong Zhuo, Meng Huo, Zhu Rong, ChunHua, Cai WenJi, and others depending on regional classification.
Qun is especially attractive if you enjoy building around one massive carry rather than a rigid faction template.
IX. Best Samkok Fantasy Wei Team
A. Core Wei Characters
My premium Wei core is:
Cao Cao + Sima Yi + Zhang Liao + Guo Jia
From there, choose frontline and healing according to what you own.
Cao Cao supports the Rage engine while weakening enemies. Sima Yi provides AoE pressure, and Zhang Liao acts as a finishing attacker.
B. Recommended Tank and Support Units
Cao Ren or Xiahou Dun can handle early tanking.
If pure Wei does not provide enough recovery, I would rather break faction purity and add Zhuge Liang, Cai WenJi, or another strong healer than force a weak all-Wei lineup.
The goal is winning, not getting a screenshot with six matching faction icons.
C. Damage and Rage Synergy
Wei works best when Cao Cao and Sima Yi are developed together. One provides tempo and utility while the other converts Rage advantages into extended pressure.
This type of lineup gets stronger as battles last longer.
D. Alternative Characters for F2P Players
A budget Wei lineup can use Xiahou Dun, Cao Ren, Xu Chu, Xiahou Yuan, Dian Wei, and Wang Yi.
That exact SR-oriented framework has been recommended for players who need a functional faction team without a full SSR collection.
Do not underestimate it. High-star SR characters can carry your account until premium Wei heroes are properly developed.
X. Best Samkok Fantasy Shu Team
A. Core Shu Damage Dealers
A premium Shu formation can revolve around Guan Yu, Zhao Yun, Zhang Fei, and Zhuge Liang, with two flexible slots.
Guan Yu provides concentrated pressure. Zhao Yun is mobile and burst-oriented. Zhang Fei controls the frontline, while Zhuge Liang keeps the engine running.
B. Huang Zhong and Wei Yan Synergy
This is one of the best examples of why Samkok Fantasy characters should not be evaluated alone.
After Wei Yan uses a Rage attack, Huang Zhong gains 500 Rage and increased damage for his next Rage attack. After Huang Zhong acts, Wei Yan receives 500 Rage, healing, and damage reduction. Wei Yan can also become much more dangerous after falling below half HP.
For a new player, this pair can feel better than two random SSRs.
C. Support and Defensive Options
Zhuge Liang is the obvious premium support.
YueYing provides an accessible faction-oriented option, while YinPing contributes control. Zhang Fei provides the best classic defensive anchor.
D. Best Shu Formation for PvE and PvP
For PvE, I like:
Zhang Fei / Guan Yu / Zhao Yun / Zhuge Liang / Huang Zhong / Wei Yan
For PvP, you can replace the Huang Zhong–Wei Yan pair with faster control or burst characters depending on your opponent.
The Shu advantage is flexibility. You rarely feel trapped into one exact strategy.
XI. Best Samkok Fantasy Wu Team
A. Lu Xun and Zhou Yu Burn Strategy
If I had to recommend one faction archetype that remains easy to understand from early progression into advanced play, it would be Burn.
Lu Xun supplies strong AoE Burn pressure, while Zhou Yu amplifies and spreads the strategy.
Older meta evaluations consistently treated both as high-value characters, especially when used together.
B. Sun Quan and Wu Support Characters
Sun Quan can help stabilize the lineup, while Lu Meng provides defensive value.
Xiao Qiao, Da Qiao, and Jia Xu-style support choices can improve Rage control and utility.
C. Building a Burn-Focused Composition
A traditional Burn formation looks like:
Sun Ce / Lu Meng / Sun Jian / Lu Xun / Zhou Yu / Jia Xu
That lineup has been recommended specifically because Sun Ce leads the attack, Lu Meng anchors the defense, and Lu Xun–Zhou Yu provide the Burn engine.
With newer SP versions available, you can replace original-generation characters as your server develops.
D. Best Wu Team for Long Battles
Burn loves longer fights because damage-over-time effects continue generating value.
Use Lu Meng or another strong tank, Lu Xun, Zhou Yu, and supports capable of keeping them alive.
You do not need six damage dealers. Keeping Burn active for one more rotation is often stronger than adding another mediocre attacker.
XII. Best Samkok Fantasy Qun and Heroine Teams
A. LingQi as a Core Damage Dealer
LingQi is the natural centerpiece.
Her early accessibility, strong single-target damage, and seven-day progression make her one of the easiest carries to recommend. I would continue investing in her until another hero clearly outscales her at a comparable star level.
B. DiaoChan and Female Character Synergies
DiaoChan becomes especially valuable because her debuffing fits a female-heavy lineup and can increase pressure against male enemies.
She is not merely there because she is a popular Three Kingdoms character. Her kit has an actual reason to exist inside the formation.
C. Heroine Squad Bonds and Bonuses
The classic Heroine Squad is:
LingQi, Zhen Ji, XingChen, YueYing, YinPing, WenJi
Zhen Ji's Bond becomes active in the female-heavy lineup, while XingChen contributes shields, YinPing brings control, WenJi supplies healing, and YueYing adds damage support.
This is one of the best beginner examples of a team whose total strength is much higher than the sum of its individual tier rankings.
D. Best F2P Heroine Team
Start with the six-character lineup above.
Later, replace YueYing with DiaoChan and consider adding Sun ShangXiang for stronger back-row pressure.
Do not rush the transition. A one-star replacement may weaken the lineup until you obtain enough shards.
XIII. Popular Samkok Fantasy Character Builds
A. LingQi, Cai WenJi, and DiaoChan Builds
LingQi: prioritize ATK, Crit, Crit DMG, and anything that improves single-target Rage damage. She should normally be one of your first damage characters to receive star upgrades, premium equipment, and Awakening resources.
Cai WenJi/WenJi: prioritize survivability, healing effectiveness, and Rage generation. A dead healer does nothing, so do not stack offensive bonuses simply to increase displayed Power.
DiaoChan: focus on Speed or Rage tempo where available, debuff reliability, survivability, and team-oriented bonuses. Her main value is making your whole formation more effective.
B. Zhuge Liang, Cao Cao, and Sima Yi Builds
Zhuge Liang: build for Rage cycling, survivability, and support effectiveness. The sooner he acts and the longer he remains alive, the more value he generates.
Cao Cao: I prefer a balanced build. He contributes enough utility that staying alive is often more important than squeezing out a little extra personal damage.
Sima Yi: invest more aggressively in damage once his defensive baseline is comfortable. He is particularly good in drawn-out battles where repeated AoE pressure can decide the fight.
C. Lu Xun, Zhou Yu, and Sun Quan Builds
Lu Xun: stack damage bonuses that improve Burn and AoE output.
Zhou Yu: prioritize the stats that keep his Burn amplification and Rage cycle consistent rather than treating him as a pure burst character.
Sun Quan: lean into durability and support tempo.
A Burn team succeeds because all three pieces survive long enough for the damage-over-time engine to keep ticking.
D. Huang Zhong, Wei Yan, and ShangXiang Builds
Huang Zhong wants Crit and back-row damage.
Wei Yan wants survivability alongside damage because his kit becomes more dangerous as the fight develops and his HP changes.
Sun ShangXiang benefits from back-row damage, Rage pressure, and offensive stats. In assassin formations, she should be developed heavily enough to eliminate enemy supports before they can recover.
XIV. Samkok Fantasy Reroll Guide and Best Characters
A. Is Rerolling Worth It?
Rerolling is useful but not mandatory.
Samkok Fantasy gives you enough free heroes and progression rewards that a bad first SSR does not ruin the account. The game also rewards star development so heavily that early reroll advantage becomes smaller over time.
If rerolling takes you ten or fifteen minutes, doing a few attempts is reasonable. Doing fifty attempts is usually not.
B. Best Characters to Reroll For
